Section 2.4 The middle 70s

Subsection 2.4.1 The year 1974

The annual meeting lacked a quorum, so election of officers was delayed until proxy votes arrived. The usual list of topics received an airing: recommdation to use non-phosphate detergents, beavers, cleaning up the inlet, road condition and paving, and perhaps a street sign at the entrance of Stocker Pond Road indicating that it is a dead end.
There was also some information gathering about boating restrictions on small bodies of water, and the announcement that property of Richard Howard on the west side of the pond may be available for sale. Interest among Association members collectively buying it to conserve the land was discussed.

Subsection 2.4.2 The year 1975

There are no Association records for 1975. On the other hand, the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 lists the number one song of the year as "Love will keep us together" by Captain and Tennille.
That may explain a lot!

Subsection 2.4.3 The year 1976

Another calm year, but nobody laments that. The Howard property which was discussed two years ago will be held by the heirs to the estate. Complaints were made about noise along Georges Mills Road (now called Stoney Brook), and uncovered sand and gravel trucks rumbling along. There were plans to request speed limits and enforcement, and there was also a discussion of misuse of Palazzi Pond.
